Totally Ghoul Experience Page

Sears Holdings Corporation

  How they challenged us:
Held to an extremely tight deadline because of the upcoming holiday, Sears wanted to spread the word about all the Halloween costumes and decorations Sears and Kmart offer but also wanted their customers to have fun when they visited their site.

What was our strategy:
With  more than 5,000 costumes and accessories available at their stores, we created a costume carousel to showcase the most popular choices and broke the items down into categories—men, women, boys, teens, etc. We also developed a fun costume machine to help indecisive shoppers pick the perfect costume.

Encouraging visitors to become part of an uber-trendy viral Internet phenomenon, Ghoul Me also gives them more to do on the site than just shop. Users can upload a photo (or capture an image with their webcams) and give themselves a ghoulish makeover by adding creepy makeup, crazy hair and freaky features. Once the transformation is complete, they can upload their scary selves to Facebook, save it to their desktop or email it to a friend.

Why we think it rocks:
The site looks great and got the whole team involved. And we met the deadline—phew. (We could make some bad “because its totally ghoul” pun, but we're over that now.)

Why we think others will dig it too:
Because it’s Totally Ghoul!! (Ok, we couldn't resist.)

The lowdown on the technical jargon:
It was our first project with Sears and Kmart, so there was a pretty intense learning curve to understanding their server set-up and the players involved. In the end, everyone was great to work with and the patience paid off with a great result.
