2008 Annual Report

Cincinnati Children's

How they challenged us:
Although we were faced with a pretty tight timeline, the real challenge was getting the annual to convey the gravity of the work Cincinnati Children’s does. As a top research institution, we needed to speak to both their tough issues and their success stories.

What was our strategy:
We wanted to condense the hospital’s mission into one word that would leave a lasting impression, and we decided that putting that word on a white cover—signifying a blank slate—would make it even more significant.

Why we think it rocks:
Photos + bright colors + white cover = very visually dynamic. The piece ended up really reflecting what Cincinnati Children’s is all about.

Why we think others will dig it too:
The striking, white cover (maybe a little bit inspired by The Beatles’ The White Album) and the powerful stories within the report make it an inspiring annual report.

The lowdown on the technical jargon:
The report was printed with RR Donnelley in Northern Kentucky using the longest sheet-fed press in the world.
